Alternative optimistic calculation algorithm

Альтернативный оптимистичный алгоритм расчета 26 April 2025 Hello!

A question arose regarding whether the rejected and neglected categories should strictly include subjects with negative choices.

With the rejected ones, that's how it was; we just corrected the description on the website.
But with the neglected ones, it's more complicated.

In the neglected group, there are practically no negative choices (few or none at all), but negative choices are not a criterion for belonging to this category.

Neglected individuals are characterized by a minimal number of both positive and negative nominations. That is, they have almost no negative votes, but formally, a few are allowed; the key characteristic is the low frequency of any nominations. Neglected individuals remain invisible: their peers neither choose them nor reject them, but they are not isolated either—after all, someone does notice them.

Example: There is a group with only positive votes. If, on average, three other people in a group choose one person, and one of them is chosen only once, then that person doesn't meet the acceptance criterion, since they receive virtually no interaction relative to the average positive choice in the group.

As a solution, we've created an "optimistic mode" so you can enable it. It can be enabled in the settings in your personal account.
In this mode, only negative choices are disregarded.

Why did we call it "optimistic"? Because we're effectively eliminating neglected members (i.e., those with little interaction) and moving them to accepted members. That's why we've made this mode optional. These optimistically accepted members can be identified by their sociometric status (personal index)—they have a lower score.

So, version 1.768b has been released:
- An alternative "optimistic" method for calculating sociometry has been added, where only negative votes are considered negligible. Enabled in settings
- Updated description of the status assignment algorithm for subjects socialmatrix.net/~status-al...
